Thank you for your comment. The guy literally frauded a website and hired me for around 2 years to do work for him, so there's no allegiance to him whatsoever.
I'll probably end up pursuing legal action against him, it's just quite costly at this stage. He should and hopefully will be held accountable for what he's done. (& I know for a fact that it's not just me.)
That's not the point of this article.
The point is whether Upwork is accountable for any of this. Since they never told me or informed me of anything for this entire time, and now, it's on me to undergo a legal fistfight with the client that they connected me with and took their commissions out of my work for two years.
For your second question, many have commented that it's because it's here in Switzerland, and Swiss banks are allowed a wider chargeback timeframe. I can't confirm on that as I've never researched it.
