True, maybe not at this point, but possibly in the future.

1. Correct, but specilizing in batteries themselves could be where a third new company prospers, and supports any other vehicle company like Ford.

2. I completely agree with this. They have to disconnect their old mindset, and think with a more tech one, with their split, they might be doing that one day, or not. Only time will tell.
